Flint Group Launches Metalback Blankets With New DuraBond™ Technology

Twice the fabric bond strength and triple the surface layer bond strength of standard metalback blankets

Plymouth, MI USA (March 1, 2010) – Innovative DuraBond™ technology is the building block of the new coldset and heatset metalback blankets recently launched by Flint Group.

The proprietary new technology is the latest and best technology in blanket carcass bonding. It is engineered to resist delamination, face chipping and adverse effects of pressroom chemicals, resulting in greater durability and longer blanket life. In the pressroom, this means better performance, greater ease of use and more impressions than typical metalback blankets.

In addition to DuraBond technology, Flint Group’s new metalback blankets offer:
  • Precise web feed and power transfer properties for optimum print and web control performance without compromising cylinder drive balance.
  • Industry’s leading compressible layer providing consistent performance and durability.
  • New and improved rubber surface layer, providing superior print quality and excellent resistance to pressroom chemistry.
These newly launched dayGraphica® metalback blankets include:
  • MB Newsprinter 8189 for Satellite newspaper presses
  • MB Newsprinter 8190 for blanket-to-blanket newspaper presses (see flyer)
  • MB Newsprinter 8193 for single-around newspaper presses (see flyer)
  • QC 3192 and QC 3193 for commercial heatset presses (see flyer)
Bob Andrew, Global Metalback Blanket Business Director, notes that the new DuraBond technology gives printers a distinct advantage: “Through extensive research and development, Flint Group’s DuraBond technology has been highly engineered to provide our customers with the industry’s most durable and best performing metalback blankets. Longer blanket performance life results in less blanket-related downtime which provides our customers improved productivity”.
